Damp Proofing
Find The Source,
Then Fix It.
Damp is almost never the problem you think it is. The visible patch is just where water finally shows up. We work backwards to find where it's actually coming from, then deal with that.
Know Your Damp
Three Types,
Three Treatments.
Damp isn't one problem — it's three quite different ones, and each needs a completely different fix. Treating the wrong one is why so many people pay twice.
Penetrating Damp
Water getting in from outside — through failed pointing, cracked render, damaged roof, blocked gutters or failed flashing. Usually shows as damp patches on external walls, often worse after rain.
Treatment
Fix the entry point, then treat affected areas
Condensation
Warm moist air from inside condensing on cold surfaces — cooking, showers, drying washing. Shows as black mould in corners, around windows and on external walls. Very common and often misdiagnosed.
Treatment
Improve ventilation, insulation and airflow
Rising Damp
Groundwater being drawn up through the masonry because the damp course has failed or was never installed. Shows as a tide mark on lower walls, often with salts and a musty smell.
Treatment
Install a chemical damp proof course
Our Approach
Diagnose First,
Then Treat.
The wrong diagnosis is expensive. Chemical damp courses get installed on walls that only needed better ventilation. Render gets sealed when the real problem is a blocked gutter twenty feet above it. We test properly first.
Proper Diagnosis
Moisture readings, salt testing and a full external check — including the roof and gutters above.
The Right Treatment
Whether that's fixing water ingress, improving ventilation, or installing a damp course.
Fix The Cause
We deal with what's letting water in, not just the damp patch on the inside wall.

A Lot Of “Damp Problems” Are Roof Problems
This is where being a roofing company as well as a damp specialist genuinely matters. A large proportion of damp complaints we attend turn out to start at the roof — and getting a roofer and a damp specialist separately usually means nobody fixes the actual cause.
- Failed chimney flashing letting water down the stack
- Cracked pointing admitting water into the wall structure
- Blocked or leaking gutters overflowing down the walls
- Failed lead valleys and abutment flashings
- Cracked render and failed external coatings
- Defective damp courses on older properties
